Earlier this month, Charlotte took center stage during the 2012 Democratic National Convention, which opened the door for LGA clients like Belk to introduce its brand to a national audience. To that end, LGA landed the opportunity for Arlene Goldstein, Belk’s VP of trend merchandising and fashion direction, to blog for the Huffington Post’s style section during the DNC. Arlene and her LGA fashion team combed the streets, parties and the convention halls, snapping photos of delegates, celebrities and other VIPs who demonstrated the retailer’s current style statements.
See Arlene’s Huffington Post fashion blogs below.
In addition, LGA helped Belk distribute a media release on “Fashion Travel Tips for the South: RNC and DNC” that generated coast-to-coast coverage online and in print. Belk also showed Southern hospitality to four DNC delegates from Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville and Raleigh and gave them head-to-toe makeovers – complete with three new outfits – to get them ready for the convention.
All in all, LGA was able to help Belk leverage the DNC to generate national media coverage and focus on modern, Southern style – something the company does very well.
