LGA Selects 5 Nonprofits for 24-Hour Goodstock

LGA has selected five Charlotte-area nonprofits through an RFP process to receive free advertising, digital, public relations, social media and creative services during the agency’s third annual Goodstock™, a 24-hour pro bono marketing marathon being held Thursday, Nov. 10 through Friday, Nov. 11 at LGA’s offices.  Over the past two years, LGA has donated more than $500,000 worth of pro bono services to 15 area nonprofits during Goodstock. 

The nonprofits selected for Goodstock 2011 are:

100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte

Mission is to improve the quality of life and enhance educational opportunities for African- Americans by overcoming the cultural and financial obstacles that have limited the achievements of some African-Americans, particularly young African-American males.

Beds for Kids

Mission is to provide a bed and other essential furniture to every child and family in need in Charlotte.

Coalition to Unchain Dogs – Charlotte Chapter

Makes chaining dogs a thing of the past by building free fences for people who chain dogs, informing the community about the detrimental effect of chaining on both the dog and the community, helping groups to start free fencing programs and lobbying for legislation which disallows or severely restricts tethering of dogs.

Easter Seals UCP North Carolina – Charlotte Chapter

Provides high-quality supports and services to people managing disabilities and mental health challenges. Services are centered on each person’s individual needs to live, learn and participate fully in his or her community.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – Charlotte Chapter

Supports research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications. JDRF also is committed to developing new and better treatments that improve the lives of people with type 1 diabetes in the near term and keep them healthy while advancing toward a cure.

We’re excited to support this year’s group of nonprofits to increase awareness of their services by offering to assist with their advertising, public relations and digital needs.”
