The 10th Annual Playground Build was a unique opportunity to bring together Charlotte professionals to build a new school playground in one working day at Paw Creek Elementary School off Brookshire Boulevard. Armand Brown and Jeremy Selan, who represented LGA at the event, started their day with outdoor stretching and inspirational music. All volunteers were split into teams to tackle different tasks, ranging from earth diggers and mulchers to weed eaters and hammerheads. During the build, Paw Creek students entertained the volunteers with singing, dancing and music from the school band. Along with the completion of a new playground, the staff was delighted to find a teachers’ breakroom was constructed outside the school with seating and a garden. At the end of the day, a group photo was taken featuring all the volunteers with an excited group of elementary school students and teachers.
