Where do you find your inspiration?
A large part of my job involves storytelling, and I find inspiration from gifted speakers, journalists, advertisers, comedians and brand icons. If they can use common words to evoke emotion or reinforce powerful messages, then they have my attention.
What do you wish people knew about your job?
I wish people knew listening is one of the other most important parts of my job. When I worked as a television news producer, I trained my ear to pick up important events on emergency scanners. For public relations, I fine-tuned that ability to pick up on key messages for the people and companies we represent, and I monitor for changes in their brand reputation on social media.
What gets you excited to come to work each day?
As the saying goes, "Variety is the spice of life." LGA's clients and their respective, unique industries offer opportunities to learn something new every day. Working on healthcare, consumer packaged goods, sports and more ensures my days at the office will always be different.
