LGA plans, executes influencer tour for PURPLE campaign
As part of the 2017 PURPLE campaign, LGA and National Gypsum hosted a two-day influencer tour that introduced a diverse group of five remodeling experts to the PURPLE high-performance family of drywall products. The influencers included Daniel Kanter of Manhattan Nest, Justin Kmetzsch of Remodelaholic, Sandra Powell of Sawdust Girl, Kim Vargo of Yellow Brick Home and Nicole White of Live Laugh Decorate. Each writes a blog where they cover everything from home renovations and DIY projects to favorite household tools and innovative products.

Flying in from all over the nation, the influencers experienced an informative and fun-filled two days in Charlotte. The tour started with a product presentation and demonstrations from the PURPLE team and continued during a meet-and-greet lunch with National Gypsum executives Tom Nelson and John Mixson. Next, they toured National Gypsum’s Mount Holly Plant to get an exclusive look at how PURPLE drywall products are made. At the end of the first day, the team got to unwind at a Charlotte Knights baseball game at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte.
The five influencers put their drywall skills to the test the second day. They competed in a friendly DIY challenge where they completed various tasks with PURPLE XP drywall. The competition, judged by TV Host / Designer and PURPLE spokesperson Anitra Mecadon, consisted of assembling, handling and patching the drywall. Although every contestant did a great job, it was Remodelaholics Justin Kmetzsch who took home the gold medal.

Each renovator returned home with a deeper understanding of the drywall industry and specifically PURPLE high-performance drywall products. They posted to their social media channels throughout the trip to Charlotte and will be posting additional blogs in the coming months about their experience with PURPLE products on DIY projects in their own homes.
